Carl Funderburk enters his first season as offensive line coach at Savannah State University. 
Funderburk spent last season coaching the offensive line at Winston-Salem State. Before working at WSSU, Funderburk coached seven years at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C. where he served as the offensive line coach and travel coordinator. At Methodist he was responsible for the implementation of the winning run and pass blocking schemes. 
Prior to coaching at Methodist, he spent three years at Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma where he served as the assistant head coach and special teams coordinator. 
Previous to his coaching at Bacone College, Funderburk served as the offensive line coach at Kemper Military Junior College in Booneville, Missouri for two seasons (1998-99). 
A 1989 graduate of Elon University, Funderburk served his country in the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal and Squad Leader from 1980-1983. He is married to Eileen Tully and the couple resides in Savannah, Ga.
