PEACHTREE CITY, Ga.- Addrian McNeal Jr had five RBI while Brevin Smith had four and Zachary Turner drove in three runs as Savannah State defeated Clark Atlanta 26-0 on Friday afternoon at Home Plate Field.

The Tigers topped CAU 26-0 in 2021 and handed the Panthers a 29-3 setback in 2001.

On Friday, Savannah State scored three times in the first inning and sent eight more runners across home plate in the second inning for a 11-0 lead.

SSU scored once in the top of the fifth and added four runs in the sixth before breaking the game open with ten runs in the seventh.

In the top of the first, Smith hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Johan Sandoval to score, Reginald Tuggle hit a RBI single and later stole home for a 3-0 lead.

Smith drew a bases loaded walk in the second inning that brought home Chandler Hicks and an error by the first baseman allowed Tuggle reached base and Julian Grier to score. A single through the right side of the infield by William Mahoney IV sent home Kendal Spencer and Smith, a wild pitch allowed Tuggle to score, a ground out by Tyler Tucker brought home Mahoney and a home run over the right field fence by Hicks allowed Kijani Clarington to score.

A sacrifice fly by Smith in the fifth sent home Grier for a 12-0 cushion.

In the sixth, Bryce Blause hit a RBI single and Turner hit a three-run home run to increase the SSU lead to 16-0.

A three-run home run by McNeal in the seventh put the Tigers ahead 19-0. That was followed by two-run doubles by Smith and McNeal and a two-run triple by Hunter Bradshaw. Spencer was also able to score a run when Farah Castillo reached base because of a throwing error by the short stop.
