FORT VALLEY, Ga.- Ansley Hudson hit a double and stole a base in both games to help Savannah State earn a doubleheader split with Fort Valley State on Saturday afternoon at the Wildcat Softball Field.

The Wildcats won the first game 7-0 and SSU won the second game 9-8.

Savannah State didn't score in the first game but left runners in scoring position in the second, fifth and sixth innings.

Aside from Hudson's double, Kennedy Alsbrook, Ariadna Diaz-Jimenez, Jayla Alexander and Nia Fisher all had singles for SSU.

Fisher struck out four batters while giving up four earned runs and two walks.

In the second game, SSU led 9-4 but held off a late rally by the Wildcats.

A two run double by Hudson put SSU ahead 3-2 in the second inning and the Lady Tigers stretched their advantage to 8-2 with five runs in the top of the third.

Guye led off the inning with a solo home run over the left field fence. A ground-out by Madison Starling-Martin allowed Morgan Cole to score, Neveah Ford hit a single that brought home Alsbrook and a single by Hudson coupled with a throwing error by the second baseman allowed Carissa Ball and Ford to cross home plate.
