ATLANTA, Ga.- Three Savannah State players scored in double figures in the Lady Tigers 77-51 loss at Clark Atlanta on Monday evening.
Myasia Jones scored a season-high 18 points while adding six rebounds, three assists and a steal for SSU. Freshman
Jayden Boykin had 14 points, four rebounds and four steals while
Mya Byrd chipped in 12 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Savannah State fell behind early in the game and trailed 25-7 after the first ten minutes of action.
Down by 22 with just under five minutes left in the second quarter, the Lady Tigers scored the next nine points to pull within 32-19.
Clark Atlanta (20-5, 14-3 SIAC) led 39-23 at the break.
Savannah State trailed by as many as 23 in the third quarter and was down 71-41 with 6:05 left in the fourth quarter before going on a 8-0 run.
To round out the SSU scoring,
Jazmin Thornton had five points and six rebounds and
Jaliyah Harper chipped in two points and two steals.
The Lady Tigers (11-11, 7-9 SIAC) will look to end their two game slide against Edward Waters on February 22 in Jacksonville, Florida at 5:30 p.m.
