Fuquay-Varina, NC - Savannah State linebacker Darrian Bell has been named HBCU National Player of the Week. Bell, a graduate student from Danville, Ky., recorded 23 tackles (19 solo), a tackle for loss, a fumble recovery, and two pass breakups in the Tigers' 23-20 overtime victory at Allen. He recovered the fumble by Allen in overtime which sealed the victory for SSU, snapping a two-game skid.
Bell will be highlighted on the nationally syndicated sports talk show BOXTOROW with Donal Ware which airs on radio stations across the country including on WRUU 107.5-FM in Savannah, and outside of the U.S. in The Bahamas and British Virgin Islands.
