Tiana Curry both had a double-double in Savannah State's 3-2 loss to Middle Georgia State in a match played on September 10, 2024 in the Knights Volleyball Gym.

Nettles ended the night with 19 kills, 17 digs, 4 assists and 1 block while Curry had 16 digs, 17 assists, 7 kills and 1 ace.

Savannah State led 2-1 in the match but lost the final two sets as they fell to 0-2 on the young season.

The Lady Tigers lost the first set 24-26 but bounced back to capture the next two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-18. Middle Georgia State rallied to win the final two sets 19-25 and 6-15.

In the opening set, SSU trailed by eight but rallied to tie the score at 18, following a kill by Nettles. Down by one, a kill by
Ayanna Klaiber-Norris tied the set at 24 but a pair of errors by Savannah State gave Middle Georgia State the two-point win.

SSU trailed by one in the second set before mounting a 7-0 run to go ahead 13-7. The Lady Tigers would expand their cushion to 20-12, following a kill by Curry. The Knights were able to get as close as five down the stretch but Savannah State was able to hold on and win.

Down by one in the third set, SSU used back-to-back kills by
Savannah Everett and Nettles helped Savannah State go ahead 8-5. Savannah State built a 15-9 lead but saw it dwindle to 15-13. However, SSU answered with a 5-0 spurt to go ahead 18-13. The Knights closed their gap to 22-18 before SSU ended the set by scoring the final three points to get the victory.

SSU was hoping to put Middle Georgia State (2-5) away in the fourth set, but that did not happen. The set was tied at 18 but the Knights put together a 7-1 mini-run to finish and tie the match at 2-2.

In the fifth and final set, Savannah State fell behind 9-1 and never recovered.

Everett had 13 kills in the match while Saniaa Dicke had 5 aces, Klaiber-Norris had 5 blocks,
Amiyah Walker had 24 assists and
Kloe Ludy 20 digs.

Savannah State and Middle georgia State will meet again on September 18 when the Lady Tigers play their home opener at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
