JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Savannah State entered their three-game series with Edward Waters on a three-game winning streak but could not keep it going as SSU dropped all three games to Edward Waters in games played at the FSCJ North Campus on Howard Roey Field .

Savannah State lost 10-5 on April 12, 2024 and lost a double-header the following day by scores of 9-4 and 16-15.

The setbacks give SSU a 23-11 overall record and a 17-10 SIAC mark.

In the first game, EWU scored twice in the first inning, three times in the second and sent five runners across home plate in the third for a 10-0 advantage.

Kendal Spencer solo home run got Savannah State on the scoreboard in the forth inning.
Â
SSU loaded the bases in the seventh.
Addrian McNeal Jr's out allowed
Jacob Rushin to score and a double by
D'Sean Prinkleton cleared the bases with
William Mahoney IV,
Jadon Oden and Spencer being able to score.

Spencer went 3-for-3 in the game and Prinkleton had three RBI.
Gregory Gonzalez Jr pitched 4.2 innings and stuck out three batters.

In the first game of the double-header, SSU trailed 1-0 going into the second inning but responded with three runs as
Chandler Hicks hit a RBI double,
Jacob Rushin reached base on a fielder's choice which scored Hicks and a RBI single by
Jadon Oden allowed Rushin to score.

Edward Waters scored three times in the bottom of the second to go back in front and then added another run in the third for a 5-3 lead.

SSU loaded the bases in the fourth and
Desmore Joseph II scored when Oden reached on a fielder's choice to cut their deficit to 5-4.

Edward Waters put the game away with three runs in the seventh and another in the eighth.
Â
Kendal Spencer and Hicks had doubles for SSU while Oden had two RBI.
Luke Sanders pitched four innings in relief and struck out two. Savannah State left 11 runners on base.

In the final game of the series,
Kendal Spencer hit a RBI double and
Hunter Bradshaw hit a three-run home run for a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Edward Waters scored three times in the bottom of the first and twice in the second for a 5-4 lead.

In the top of the fourth Spencer hit a three-run double and
D'Sean Prinkleton added a RBI single that scored Spencer for a 8-5 lead.

Edward Waters answered with three runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to go back in front 11-8.
Â
Both teams scored three times in the sixth with SSU's coming from a RBI double by Prinkleton and a two run single by Bradshaw.

Down 14-11 entering the seventh inning, Savannah State responded with a RBI singles by Prinkleton and
Addrian McNeal Jr and an RBI by Bradshaw who reached base on a fielder's choice.

In the bottom of the seventh, EWU (24-14, 18-8 SIAC) had the bases loaded and tied the game when Ferante Cowart was hit by a pitch which allowed Daiton Pass to score. Dave Mitchum was issued a walk which allowed Misael Ramos to score the game winner.

Bradshaw had six RBI and two hits for SSU, Spencer finished the game with a pair of doubles, four RBI and four runs scored and Prinkleton had three hits and three RBI.
Brayden Thomas struck out two in his three innings on the mound.

SSU will travel to Morris for a non-conference game on April 16.
