TUSKEGEE, Ala.- Savannah State won two of three games against Tuskegee to improve their SIAC record to 17-7 while their overall record jumps to 22-8.

SSU lost to the Golden Tigers 6-2 on April 6 but bounced back to win a double-header on April 7 by scores of 13-4 and 6-1. All three games were played at Washington Field.
Â
In the first game, Savannah State led 2-0 before Tuskegee scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to get the win.

SSU scored a run in the top of the first when
Jadon Oden led off the game with a single and advanced to third on a double by
Kendal Spencer.
Hunter Bradshaw drew a walk to load the bases and following a strikeout by
Chandler Hicks,
Jason Miller drew a walk that allowed Oden to score.
Â
In the top of the eighth,
Hakem Smith hit a double to center field, advanced to third on an error by the center fielder and scored to put SSU ahead 2-0.

Both teams had 10 hits in the game but SSU stranded 16 runners on base.
Â
The Tigers left the bases loaded in the first, fourth and seventh innings.
Â
Addrian McNeal Jr, Oden, Spencer and Smith all hit a double for SSU.
Jose Santiago, who struck out seven batters in his 7.1 innings on the mound, took the loss.

Alex Glass had three hits for TU and Rodney Mudd was the winning pitcher.

In the second game, Savannah State scored all the runs they would need in the first inning as five Tigers crossed home plate.

Jadon Oden was hit by a pitch and
Addrian McNeal Jr singled to left field. After
Kendal Spencer flied out and
Hunter Bradshaw lined out,
Chandler Hicks reached base on an error by the second baseman which allowed Oden to score. A walk to
D'Sean Prinkleton loaded the bases for
Desmore Joseph II whose double to right field brought home McNeal and Hicks.
Jacob Rushin followed with a two-run single that allowed Prinkleton and Joseph to score for a 5-0 lead.

Tuskegee scored a run in the bottom of the first inning but SSU got it back in the top of the third when Prinkleton led off with a double to left field and scored on a ground-out by Joseph for a 6-1 advantage. The Golden Tigers added a run in their turn at bat to make the score 6-2.

Four more Savannah State players scored in the fourth to stretch their lead to 10-2.

McNeal walked and advanced to second on a single by Bradshaw.
Chandler Hicks followed with a hit that caused the center fielder to make an error which resulted in Hicks making it to third base while McNeal and Bradshaw scored runs. Prinkleton reached base on a fielder's choice and scored on a single by Joseph.
Jacob Rushin hit a single and
William Mahoney IV was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Oden who was also hit by a pitch which brought home Joseph.

Tuskegee cut their deficit to 10-4 with a pair of runs in the fifth but SSU added three runs in the seventh inning with McNeal, Bradshaw and Prinkleton crossing home plate for a 13-4 cushion.

Savannah State had 13 hits but made two errors and left ten runners on base.
Â
Joseph had four RBI, two hits and scored twice while Prinkleton scored four times and stole three bases and McNeal scored three times.
Brevin Smith pitched six innings and struck out three batters.

Scott Williams had two hits and two RBI for Tuskegee and Devon Lee was tagged with the loss.

In the rubber game of the series, Savannah State scored four times in the first inning with
Chandler Hicks and
Desmore Joseph II both hitting two-run singles.

Hicks hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning that sent home
Hunter Bradshaw for a 5-0 lead.

Tuskegee scored their only run in the bottom of the fifth and SSU put the game away in the top of the seventh when
Kendal Spencer tripled to right field and scored on a ground-out by Bradshaw.

Both teams made one error and Savannah State out-hit Tuskegee 6 to 5. SSU left five runners on base while the Golden Tigers left three.

Hicks went 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI while Joseph drove in two runs.
Brayden Thomas struck out four in his seven innings on the hill.

Ryan Morrow and Scott Williams each hit a double for Tuskegee (9-25, 7-15 SIAC) and Mikelle Mason was the losing pitcher.
