SAVANNAH, Ga.- Playing their first home match since February 17, Savannah State fell to Georgetown College by a score of 5-2 at the SSU Tennis Courts on arch 11, 2024.
 
Savannah State won the number two doubles match and also picked up wins in the number one and number two singles matches.
 
The number two doubles team of 
Madeleine Anne Nolan and 
Sunzahra Liburd-Banks defeated their opponents 6-3 for SSU's lone doubles win.
 
The number one doubles team of Gabrielle Been and 
Amarlia Benn lost their match 3-6 while the number three doubles team of 
Jharia Webster and 
Chazmin Yokley fell to their opponent 1-6.
 
In singles play, Gabrielle Been defeated her opponent 2-6, 7-6, 10-3 and Nolan topped her opponent 6-0, 6-0.
 
Amarlia Benn lost to her opponent 6-7, 2-6 and Liburd-Banks lost her match 1-6, 2-6.
 
In the number five singles, Webster fell 3-6, 0-6 and Yokley lost her number six singles match 4-6, 2-6.
 
The non-conference loss dropped Savannah State to 6-5 on the season.
 
SSU will return to action on March 21-24 when they travel to Mobile, Alabama to compete in the SIAC Roundup.
