ALBANY, Ga.- The Savannah State women's volleyball team won a trio of matches at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Crossover which was held September 22-23 on the campus of Albany State.

On the first day of action, the Lady Tigers won their opening match over Lane (3-2) before falling in the next two matches to Central State (1-3) and Spring Hill (0-3).

In the win over Lane, SSU had victories of 30-28, 24-26, 18-25, 27-25, 15-10.
Allena Norton had 17 kills,
Jessee Grubesic had 30 assists and
Kloe Ludy had 26 digs.

Central State defeated SSU in the first set 24-26 but Savannah State bounced back in the second sett to tie the match with a 28-26 victory. The Marauders won the next two sets by scores of 17-25 and 18-25 to win the match. Once again, the team was led by Norton (10 kills), Grubesic (14 assists) and Ludy (24 digs).

In their final match of the day, in a loss to Spring Hill, Grubesic had 18 assists, Aaliyah Mitchell had 11 digs and
Destinee Langston had nine kills. Spring Hill won the match 13-25, 18-25, 14-25.

On the second day, Savannah State closed out the crossover with wins over Kentucky State (3-0) and LeMoyne-Owen (3-1).

SSU beat Kentucky State with scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-13 and were led by Norton and Destine Langston who had 11 kills apiece. Grubesic had 23 assists and Ludy had 10 digs. Norton had 19 kills against LeMoyne-Owen while Grubesic had 24 assists and Ludy had 21 digs. Savannah State downed LeMoyne-Owen in the first set 25-19 but lost the second set 23-25. The Lady Tigers regrouped and won the next two sets 25-21, 25-19.

Savannah State (8-4, 5-4 SIAC) will host Middle Georgia State in Tiger Arena on September 26 and will head to Mobile, Alabama to participate in another SIAC Crossover which will be held at Spring Hill on Sept. 30.
