ATLANTA, Ga.- The Savannah State University women's volleyball team was picked to finish fourth in the Eastern Division of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season while a trio of SSU players earned preseason all conference honors.
Destinee Langston earned SIAC First Team preseason honors while sophomore middle hitter
Allena Norton and junior libero
Kloe Ludy earned Second Team honors.
Langston who earned All-SIAC First Team honors last season, returns as outside hitter. The Fayetteville, Georgia native had 256 kills, 24 serving aces, 217 digs and 13 blocks a year ago.

Norton had 218 kills and 47 blocks last year while Ludy chipped in 49 assists, 338 digs and 14 serving aces.

Edward Waters was picked to win the SIAC Eastern Division followed by Albany State, Benedict and SSU. Clark Atlanta was picked to finish fifth, Fort Valley State was sixth and Allen was seventh. Spring Hill was tapped to win thee Western Division. Behind Spring Hill is Lane Kentucky State, Central State, Miles, Tuskegee and LeMoyne-Owen.

Edward Waters' Fatima Ramirez was selected as this year's Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and Mikayla Boyer of Spring Hill College was tabbed as the 2023 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year,
Last season, Savannah State posted a 12-12 overall record and a 12-7 mark in conference play. Both were program records.
