Allen won the opening set 23-25 and Savannah State captured the second set 25-19. The Yellow Jackets pulled out a 22-25 victory in the third set while SSU won the fourth set 25-22.Â

In the fifth and deciding set, Savannah State started with a 3-1 lead but Allen used a 7-1 run to go ahead 10-6. SSU closed their gap to 12-13Â but Allen held off Savannah State to get the win. SSU finished the set with only eight kills and had a hitting percentage of .143 as they fell 13-15.

Kloe Ludy finished the match with 38 digs and two aces. Gaines had five blocks,
Jessee Grubesic had 53 assists and
Tiana Curry had 14 digs and a pair of blocks.

Gaines had a .474 hitting percentage on the night while Grubesic had a .429 hitting percentage.
Allena Norton hit 33 percent of her shots in the match.
