SAVANNAH, Ga.—Savannah State women's volleyball will play their first home match this evening in Tiger Arena. The Lady Tigers head into game four of the season looking for their first win.
 
They host the College of Coastal Georgia in a non-conference match this evening—six days after their first meeting with the Mariners in Brunswick, Georgia.
 
LAST GAME
On Tuesday, Savannah State fell to Albany State in three close sets. The match opened Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play for the year. Freshman Allena Norton led the Lady Tigers with seven kills on the night, followed by Destinee Langston (6). Kloe Ludy led in digs with 16, also followed by Langston (13).
 
TOP HITTERS

Savannah State is led by junior outside hitter Destinee Langston and freshmen middle hitter Allena Norton on offense. Langston has 18 kills on the season and 18.5 points after playing in all nine sets of the season. Norton has 17 kills and 20.0 point after also playing in all nine sets. Freshman right side hitter Dorothea Ruffin is just behind in the leader's category with 11 kills on the season. And leads in set aces with two.
 
TOP DEFENDERS
Libero Kloe Ludy leads the team in digs with 34 after three matches. Langston isn't far behind on the defensive side with 29 digs of her own. Freshmen middle hitter Serteria Butler and sophomore middle hitter Destiny Gaines lead the team at the net with 6.0 blocks each. Allen has 5.0 blocks as well on the season.  
 
LAST MATCHUP
The Lady Tigers will be looking for some payback on home turf tonight. Savannah State opened up their season last Saturday with a tri-match in Brunswick, Ga. against Coastal Georgia and Point University. In their second game of the season, they fell to Coastal Georgia in straight sets, 16-25, 8-25, 16-25.
 
OPPONENT SCOUTING REPORT
Coastal Georgia, an NAIA team in the Sun Conference, are heading into their 10th game of the young season. They are 4-5 overall, picking up wins against Middle Georgia State, Toocoa Falls College and Brewton Parker.
 
The Mariners are led in offense by 10 Sydney Martin (81 kills), and 1 Paula Perez Rosales (48 kills). On defense, 12 Natalia Willhelm Heguaburu has 98 digs on the season, followed by Rosales with 80. They lead the Sun Conference in service aces with 2.18 on average.
