SAVANNAH, Ga.—Savannah State women's volleyball will look to parlay some momentum from this past weekend into a win against a prime Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) East Division rival tonight.

LAST GAME
On Saturday, the Lady Tigers lost a close match with Miles College, then absolutely decimated Tuskegee in a SIAC mini-crossover event hosted by Albany State. It was a little preview of what's to come to this weekend when the Lady Tigers head to Cartersville, Georgia to play in the 2022 SIAC Crossover tournament, where they will face five SIAC West Division teams over two days.

TOP HITTERS
After the opening eight games of the young season, Savannah State is led on offense by junior hitter Destinee Langston (74 kills, 2.64 kills a set). Other notable hitters are freshmen Allena Norton (.234 hitting percentage; 61 kills, 2.18/set), and Jasmine Nettles (38 kills, 2.00/set)

TOP DEFENEDERS
Langston has also emerged as a top defender with 67 digs on the season. Libero Kloe Ludy leads in digs with 127. Nettles, who's been instrumental in recent games, has 50 digs on the season while newcomers Jessee Grubesic (57), Serteria Buttler (24) have also been key on defense. Norton leads the team in blocks with 16.0, followed closely by Buttler (12.0).

LAST MATCHUP

The Lady Tigers will be looking for some payback on home turf tonight. Savannah State faced off with Albany State on Sept. 6 in Albany, Ga. The Lady Tigers fell in close sets, 19-25, 19-25 and 23-25. Norton, Langston and Dorothea Ruffin led in kills in that game. Destiney Gaines, Norton and Butler combined for 12 blocks in the loss.

OPPONENT SCOUTING REPORT
Albany State leads the SIAC East Division with a 5-1 conference record. They are 5-4 overall this season. They picked up SIAC wins against Fort Valley, Benedict College, Clark Atlanta and Miles College while losing to reigning SIAC Champions' Spring Hill. They enter tonight's game off a 3-0 win against Miles on Sept. 17.
