Jadon Adams Named SIAC Offensive Player Of The Week

ATLANTA, Ga. – Savannah State quarterback Jadon Adams has been named this week's Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Offensive Player of the week, according to a press release from the conference office Monday evening.

The redshirt freshman led Savannah State to a 31-28 victory over Edward Waters this past Saturday. He connected on 4-of-8 passes for 61 yards in the air and two touchdowns, and rushed eight times for 29 yards, helping Savannah State to 339 total offensive yards.

After two games, Adams—a Savannah native and Islands High School graduate—leads the Savannah State quarterback crew. He is 8-for-17 with 101 passing yards and three passing touchdowns on the season. The mobile playmaker has 95 rushing yards on 18 carries with one rushing touchdown.

Benedict's Deneius Loobert was named the SIAC Defensive Player of the Week, helping hold Lane to just 92 total offensive yards in Benedict's 14-0 win. Fort Valley's Rodney Williams and Adeon Farmer were named the SIAC Special Teams and Newcomer of the Week, respectively, following the Wildcats 9-7 win over Kentucky State.

Savannah State has a short week to celebrate the first win. They travel to Columbia on Thursday to face Benedict College in a prime time game on ESPNU.
