SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State women's volleyball are off to a strong start following the first three games of the season. Tonight, they will face off with the only team they've lost to this year, the undefeated (12-0) College of Coastal Georgia Mariners.
 
In the team's last meeting, this past Saturday, The Mariners blanked the Lady Tigers beating them in straight sets, 25-15, 25-11, and 25-13. Senior Jedaiah Daniels led that effort for Savannah State with 5 kills. On the other side, Giovana Larregui Lop recorded 12 kills and 10 digs to lead the field on the stat sheet.
 
The only game Coastal Georgia has taken to five sets this season was an Aug. 25 match against Edward Waters. Edward Waters got the best of the first two sets, but Coastal Georgia rallied to win the final three sets and take the match.
 
Savannah State is led on offense by fifth-year senior Jedaiah Daniels who has 23 kills on the season and a .475 hitting percentage. New Libero Kloe Ludy leads the defense with 31 digs and Imani Cook leads in blocks with 7.0.
 
The Lady Tigers open a rigorous Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) schedule on Friday as they face off with Fort Valley State in Tiger Arena.
