Three Former Tigers To Play In Pro Development League Championship

HOUSTON, Tex. – Three former Savannah State football players are gearing up for a championship this week.

Former Tiger defensemen Connor Christian (DT) and Stefen Banks (DE) as well as former player and current Savannah State football coach Marquis Smith (LB) all made the roster of The Spring League (TSL) North Division team the Lineman for the 2021 season.

The TSL Mega Bowl is set for June 19 at 3 p.m. (EST) at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas and will feature the North Division Champions, Lineman (5-1), versus the South Division Champions, Jousters (4-2), in a conclusion of the 24-game regular season. The Mega Bowl will be aired live on Fox.

The Spring League is a premier professional football development league operating in the U.S., according to their website. They recruit players from all NCAA schools. Games are played at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas and at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Tickets for the game are on sale now and range from $30-$250.
