SCOUTING REPORT | SAVANNAH STATE
Savannah State enters Monday's match on a three-game winning streak that started with a 77-71 victory over Fort Valley State in Fort Valley, Georgia on Feb. 17.

This past weekend, the Lady Tigers cruised past Albany in back-to-back victories in Tiger Arena on Friday and Saturday. They combined for 159 points in both wins (85-50 on Friday and 74-36 on Saturday).

Defense was key to both of the weekend wins. The Lady Tigers are averaging 43 rebounds a game this season and 12.8 steals. On the other end, they have three players averaging double figures. Leading the team is NCAA Division I junior transfer Bria Gibbs who is putting away 14.3 points a game and grabbing 10.8 rebounds to lead the team in both categories.

Junior's Le'Andrea Gillis and Azhana Maxwell are both having stellar seasons as well, averaging 11.5 points a game each. Amari Heard, who was named the 2019-20 SIAC Freshman of the Year, is continuing to be a major offensive asset for the Lady Tigers in her sophomore season, averaging 9.3 points a game and 8.3 rebounds.

In their last matchup with Fort Valley State, Savannah State came out strong in the opening quarter, but sputtered as the Wildcats outscored them in the second to hold the lead into the half. It was a strong third quarter effort for the Lady Tigers on defense that sealed the win down the stretch.

SCOUTING REPORT | Fort Valley State
Fort Valley State has the shooters.

They're a three-tiered scoring team with the ability to hit long-range shots, mid-range jumpers as well as do damage in the paint and are strong on defense, averaging 13.4 steals a game this season.
