UPDATE (7:30 p.m.) Due to inclement weather, today's game as moved to Edward Waters and will kick-off at 9:30 p.m.

SAVANNAH, Ga. –Savannah State closes out the 2021 regular season today with a big Senior Day home game against Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) provisional team Edward Waters.

The Tigers concluded their SIAC schedule last week with a 24-6 win over Fort Valley State to close with a 5-1 SIAC record. Their nine consecutive conference wins this season, dating back to the 2019 season, set a new school record. The Tigers will finish second in the SIAC East Division.

A win against Edward Waters today will give Savannah State one of the best overall records since 1989—the last time a Tiger football team ended with only two losses.

Savannah State and Edward Waters have been meeting on the gridiron since the 1930s. The Florida Tigers lead the series 11-9-4, but the Savannah Tigers have had the upper hand by a large margin in the last two games putting up a combined 94 points over two wins (45-24 in 2009, 49-19 in 2019).

Today, Savannah State will honor 16 seniors prior to the game and two managers. The pregame ceremony is set to take place at 4:30 p.m. This year's seniors are: D'Angelo Durham, D'Vonn Gibbons, Walter Yates, Brian Roberts, Le'Vonte Larry, Andunte Devereux, Marvin Grunshie, Trey Murray, Harvey King, Chaii Bland, Ravion "Vegas" Haden, Cameron M. Brown, Bernard Brown, Hoston Robinson III, Dylan McCloud and Stephen Greaves.
