Lady Tigers Cruise Past Coastal Georgia

BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Savannah State women's basketball cruised to their second win of the season on Monday, beating the College of Coastal Georgia 96-70.

The Lady Tigers opened the game with a 21-6 run in the first quarter. The Mariners attempted a rally in the second quarter, but Savannah State held them at bay. By halftime, the Lady Tigers led 52-33. The second half was all Savannah State, as they held onto a double-digit lead through the final two quarters with ease.

Azhana Maxwell and Amari Heard led the scoring with 14 points each for Savannah State. Ta'Kyla Austin and Le'Andrea Gillis each tacked on 13 and Bria Gibbs added 10 of her own. Gillis led on defense with seven rebounds.
