Lady Tigers Fall To Clark Atlanta In Penultimate Regular Season Game

ATLANTA, Ga.— The Lady Tigers team fell to Clark Atlanta, 1-3, in their penultimate game of the regular season and a key Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) matchup on Tuesday.
 
Savannah State falls out of third place in the SIAC East Division standings with the loss, moving to 10-12 overall and 6-8 as they approach the final game of the regular season. The Lady Tigers have already sealed up a trip to the 2021 SIAC Championship Nov. 15-18 with their win over Fort Valley State last week.
 
On Tuesday, Clarke Atlanta secured the first set with a back and forth 25-23 win. Into the second set, Lady Tigers took an early 6-2 lead over Clark Atlanta. The Panthers tumbled back into the match after a 5-0 run that gave them a 7-6 lead. Following a 20-20 tie, the home team finished strong taking a 2-0 lead with a 25-20 set win.
 
In the third set, Savannah State took an early 7-2 lead over Clark Atlanta. The Panthers battled back with a 6-1 run to tie the match up at 8 all.  The Lady Tigers finished strong though, winning the set 25-22.
 
Clark Atlanta came out firing in the fourth set taking an early 4-0 lead. They dominated the full set and after a few more runs, they won the set 25-12, sealing up the 3-1 match win.
 
The Savannah State Lady Tigers will face SIAC East Division leader Albany State Friday, Nov. 12, in their final regular season matchup in Wilcox-Willey Gym. First serve on Senior Night is set for 6 p.m.
