SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State football returns home for a two game homestand, beginning today with a non-conference game against Erskine College at Theodore A. Wright Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
 
COVID-19 protocols, including reduced capacity, as well as clear bag procedure will be in effect for today's game.
 
The Tigers are coming off a big 21-17 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) win at Kentucky State last week. Savannah State held on against a late rally from the Thorobreds.  Late in the game, with Kentucky State threatening to score, Daniel Dorsey snagged a key interception that set the Tigers up for the victory.
 
Today will be the first ever matchup between Savannah State and Erskine College. Erskine College is coming into the game off their first win of the season, after beating Virginia University of Lynchburg last week 59-13. The Flying Fleet just added football back to their athletic stable in 2020 after a 69-year absence.
 
The Tigers look to get a big non-conference win before continuing SIAC play next week, Oct. 16, against long-time rival Clark Atlanta University for Homecoming.
 
Today's game will be streamed live on FloSports. For the first time in program history, nine of Savannah State's ten football games will be televised this year after the SIAC signed a streaming deal with ESPN and Savannah State signed their own streaming deal with FloSports.
