SAVANNAH, Ga.  – Savannah State, in search of its first win, will host a young Brewton-Parker team this evening in Willcox-Willey.
 
The Lady Tigers fell to Coastal Georgia and Fort Valley State in two hard-fought games to open the season.
Historically, SSU is 2-6 against the Lady Barons. Savannah State earned both of their wins against Brewton-Parker in 2014. The Lady Tigers beat them 3-0 on Aug. 30 in Savannah and then beat them 3-1 on Oct. 30 in Mount Vernon, Ga.
 
Currently, the Lady Tigers are led on offensive by Jeilynn Brown, who has recorded 16 kills. Setter Valeria Aldarondo has 14 kills on the season and 32 assists. Jedaiah Daniels leads the defense with 20 digs and 6 blocks.
 
Savannah State will head to the SIAC Crossover this weekend for seven games against fellow conference members. They return home on Tuesday Oct. 1 for a SIAC game against Albany State.
