GREENSBORO, N.C-
Aaron Straker drove in five runs to power the Savannah State baseball team to a 10-4 victory over North Carolina A&T, in a game played at War Memorial Stadium.

Straker went 2 for 3 at the plate and also scored twice.

The win gives SSU a 7-14 overall record as they improve to 5-4 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Savannah State jumped out to a 4-0 lead after four and a half innings of play.

In the top of the third, Straker hit a two-run home run and
Luis Lamarchel hit a RBI double for a 3-0 lead. With runners on second and third in the fourth inning, Straker's fielder's choice allowed
Justin Washington to score for a 4-0 cushion.

The Aggies scored a run in the bottom of the inning to make the score 4-1 but SSU sent three more runs across home plate in the fifth inning.

Joey Roberson drew a walk while Lamarchel and
Turner Davis singled to load the bases. A sacrifice fly by Washington allowed Roberson to score. The next two batters,
Garrett Bogart and
Austin Adams were hit by pitches. Bogart loaded the bases and when Adams reached base it sent Lamarchel home. Another sacrifice fly by Straker allowed Davis to score for a 7-1 lead.

Bogart led off the seventh with a single and scored on a double by Straker. Trevor Meany was hit by a pitch and Roberson drew a walk to fill the basepads and walks to Lamarchel and Davis allowed Straker and Meany to score and increase their lead to 10-1.

A&T added three more runs in the bottom of the ninth but it would not be enough.

Roberson scored twice for the Tigers, Bogart had two hits and Lamarchel added three hits and two RBI.

Tyler Robison was the winning pitcher. Robison struck out four in seven innings as he gave up seven hits, one run and one walk.

The Tigers had ten hits in the game while making two errors and leaving 11 men on base.

A&T also had ten hits, made one error and stranded 10 runners.
Â
Michael Johnson was tagged with the loss. Johnson struck out four but surrendered four hits, four runs and one walk in his four innings on the mound.

Jason King had a double for the Aggies (16-12, 6-3 MEAC).
