Kameryn Baker had two hits apiece for Savannah State as they fell to South Alabama in the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic which was held at the ESPN World Wide of Sports Complex by a score of 8-1.
Kennedy. Cronan hit a two-run home run for the Jaguars in the first inning as they took a 3-0 lead.
South Alabama added another run in the third to increase their lead to 4-0.
Shayna Byers hit a solo home run for SSU (0-9) in the fourth for their lone score of the contest.
South Alabama scored three runs in the fifth, including a two-run homer by Kamdyn Kvistad or a 7-1 lead. The Jaguars added another run in the sixth for he last score of the game.
Savannah State had six hits in the game and left seven runners on base.
Faith Dickerson was the losing pitcher. Dickerson struck out three in seven innings.
South Alabama (9-8) left six runners on base as they collected 11 hits and made two errors.
Kvistad had three hits, scored three times and drove in three runs. Alexis Reid was the winning pitcher as she struck out seven batters.
