STATESBORO, Ga.- Savannah State fell to St. Francis (Pa.) in the Bash In The Boro, held at Eagle Field on the campus of Georgia Southern, by a score of 7-1.

Against St. Francis, SSU scored in the first inning and were shut out the rest of the contest.

Stacie Smith reached base on a throwing error by the pitcher, stole second and scored after
Jakayla Sullivan doubled to right field.

The Red Flash, which scored a run in the bottom of the first inning, scored three runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

For the game, SSU stranded 10 runners while St. Francis left four on base.

Cortni Jones added a double for SSU (0-2).

Tanisha Williams took the loss on the mound. Williams surrendered 11 hits, seven runs, three walks and struck out one.

Mekenzie Saban had three hits for St. Francis. Meadow Uncapher was the winning pitcher, striking out three while giving up four hits, four walks and one run.
