STATESBORO, Ga.- Playing their fourth game in two days, Savannah State dropped a 6-1 decision to Winthrop as part of the Bash In The Boro.

The fans gathered at Eagle Field saw SSU leave nine runners on base while only scoring one run.
Â
SSU left runners on base in the first, third, fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Savannah State had runners in scoring position in four of those innings.

Trailing 6-0 after five innings of play, the Lady Tigers scored their only run in the top of the sixth when
Cortni Jones singled up the middle and later scored when
Kameryn Baker singled to the shortstop.

Baker ended the contest with two singles for SSU.

Tanisha Williams was the losing pitcher. Williams surrendered 12 hits, six runs and three walks while collecting four strikeouts.

Winthrop, who left eight runners on base and committed two errors, were led at the plate by Morgan Lowers who had three hits.

Keleigh Romine was the winning pitcher. Romine pitched five innings and struck out six while giving up three hits and two walks.
