SAVANNAH, Ga.- With the scored tied at 85,
Zach Sellers hit a 3-pointer with 46 seconds left to lift Savannah State to a 88-85 win over Morgan State in a game played at Tiger Arena.

During the final 22 seconds of the contest Morgan State had a chance to tie or take the lead but missed two 3-pointers, two jumpers and a layup.

Sellers scored the final seven points of the game for the Tigers.

The win over the Bears give SSU a season sweep over the Baltimore based school as well as extend their winning streak to four games. The Tigers edged Morgan State 88-87 on the road on January 7.

Savannah State (9-15, 6-4 MEAC) trailed by ten with 15:21 left in the contest but used a 10-0 run to tie the score at 65-65 at the 12:22 mark after a layup and free throw by
Adam Saeed.

A 11-4 Morgan State run gave the visitors a 76-59 advantage with 8:34 on the clock but SSU answered with a 9-2 spurt that knotted the contest with just under six minutes remaining at 78 apiece.

A 3-pointer by Zaquavian Smith and a layup by Sellers put the Tigers ahead 83-80 with 4:21 left but Morgan State was able to tie the game at 83 on a three-point play by Stanley Davis.

The Tigers went ahead 85-83 on a layup by Sellers with 3:14 left but a pair of free throws by Davis with 1:11 showing allowed the Bears to tie the game for the seventh time before Seller hit the game winner.

Jaquan Dotosn led four SSU players in double figures with 18 points.
Tyrell Harper, who hit five 3-pointers added 17 points and nine assists while Smith scored 13 and
Romani Hansen chipped in 11. Hansen, John Grant and
Collins Joseph all had five rebounds each for Savannah State.

The crowd of 1,845 saw Morgan State lead by as many as 13 points in the first period.

Down 40-27 with 6:55 remaining in the half, Savannah State strung together a 18-9 run to slice their deficit to four with 54 seconds left.

The half ended with Sherwyn Davis hitting two free throws for the Bears as they took a 51-45 lead into the half.

Savannah State finished the game shooting 56.1 percent from the field, 41.2 percent from beyond the arc and 58.8 percent from the free throw line.

Davis had a game-high 21 points for Morgan State (8-16, 3-8 MEAC).

The Bears, who made seven of ten 3-point attempts in the first half, only made one of 12 attempts in the second period.

Morgan State shot 36.4 percent from the floor and from beyond the arc and 75 percent from the free throw line.

MSU out-rebounded Savannah State 47 to 35.
