SAVANNAH, Ga.  – After losing to Belmont Abbey College, 0-3, last weekend the Savannah State Lady Tigers are returning home to battle against Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponent Benedict College.

In the last conference match The Lady Tigers played, SSU swept Paine College 3-0. The match was led by
Imani Williamson who had a season-high 20 kills and
Valeria Aldarondo who led the team with 41 assists.
Historically, SSU and Benedict College are tied one match win apiece, each taking a loss on their home court. Savannah State won their last match against BC on Nov. 4, 2008, 3-2. Before that, SSU lost to Benedict 2-3 on Oct. 11, 2008.

Currently, the Lady Tigers are led on offensive by
Jeilynn Brown, who has recorded 125 kills. Setter
Valeria Aldarondo, who won the SIAC Setter of the Week award this week, leads the team with 334 assists.
Jedaiah Daniels leads the defense with 129 digs and 19 blocks.

Savannah State will have another home game Oct. 11 in Tiger Arena against conference foe Fort Valley State.
