STATESBORO, Ga.- Salma Gonzalez had 14 assists and
Ashley Jordan added 10 more to pace Savannah State as the Lady Tigers fell to regional rival Georgia Southern in the GATA Challenge, 3-0.

SSU (1-8) fell by scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-19.

Gonzalez had four assists for Savannah State in the first set while
Tyran Chenault, Noria Ceballos Plaza and
Oneillia Fuller had two kills apiece.

In the second set, Gonzalez had four assists and two digs, Ceballos Plaza had three kills and Leiri Melendez had four digs.

The third set saw Chenault and
Gabrielle Wells get three kills apiece. Gonzalez and
Ashley Jordan had six and four assists respectively and Melendez had four digs.

Melendez finished the day with 10 digs while Gonzalez had five. Chenault had six kills while Ceballos Plaza and
Oneillia Fuller had five kills apiece.

Madison Brown had 20 assists for Georgia Southern while Lauren Reichard had 11 kills and Joscelin Morrow had eight digs.

GSU improved to 2-9 with the victory.
