Savannah, Ga. -- 
The Tigers will face their toughest conference opponent to date when they take on #2 N.C. A&T State University tonight in Tiger Arena. It is a matchup between the #1 and #2 teams in the MEAC and the only time the teams will meet in the regular season.
  
Game Notes:
Tiger Bites
· SSU's is currently on a an eight-game winning streak. It is the longest streak since the Tigers won 13 straight to end the 2011-12 season en route to winning the MEAC regular season championship.

· SSU's leading scorer Dexter McClanahan needs six points for 1,000 career points. The junior from Stockbridge, Ga. has 395 points so far this season.

· SSU leads the nation in total 3-pointers made with 305, 3-pointers per game averaging 12.2 and three point attempts with 1,015. The Tigers are in the top 10 nationally in: Scoring offense (7th) averaging 85.6 ppg; steals per game (6th) averaging 9.4; total steals (6th) with 239; turnover margin (9th) at 4.6 and turnovers forced (3rd) averaging 18.40.

FENNER SETS NEW RECORD
Alante Fenner is coming off of a 46 point performance in the Tigers previous outing against Morgan State University. Fenner's 46 is the most points that a Savannah State player has scored in the Division I era.
 
#1 IN THE MEAC
The Savannah State Tigers rank #1 in the MEAC in nine statistical categories. The Tigers lead the conference in: 3-pt field goals attempted (1,015), assist per game (15.6); scoring offense (85.6), steals per game (9.6), 3-pt field goals per game (12.2), total 3-pointers made (305), total steals (239), turnover margin (4.6), and turnovers forced (18.40).
 
MOVING BACK DOWN
In April 2017, the Savannah State administration made the decision to move SSU athletics from Division I to Division II. The move will become effective following the 2018-19 season.

MCCLANAHAN LEADING SSU
Dexter McClanahan is 7th in the conference in three-point field goals made with 56 and is averaging 2.2 made threes per game. McClanahan is also 8th in the conference in scoring averaging 15.8 ppg.
 
LEADING MEN
Both teams have two of the MEAC Top 10 scoring leaders. Dexter McClanahan leads the Tigers with 15.8 points per game which is eighth in the MEAC. The Aggies are led by Femi Olujobi who averages 17.5 points per outing which is the fifth best in the conference in that category.
