SAVANNAH, Ga. – Junior forward Kaylee Allen led the team with 19 points and added eight points and four steals as the Savannah State University women's basketball team (4-18, 1-9 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to Morgan State University (13-11, 6-5 MEAC) 70-41 Saturday in Tiger Arena.
 
Freshman guard Jazmine Bartlett added seven points, while freshman center Alexxus Sowell added nine rebound and five points and junior guard Jacqueline Anderson added seven rebounds and three steals.
 
Morgan State scored 10 of the first 12 points of the game to take an eight-point lead, 10-2, with 7:10 remaining in the first quarter, but an Allen three-pointer cut the lead to five points, 10-5, with 5:28 left.  The Bears scored 10 of the final 13 points to take a first-quarter lead of 12 points, 20-8.
 
The Bears scored 10 of the first 14 points of the second quarter to increase the lead to 18 points, 30-12, with 4:56 remaining in the quarter, but the Lady Tigers outscored MSU 11-9 during the rest of the quarter to cut the halftime deficit to 16 points, 39-23.
 
Savannah State scored three of the first five points to cut the lead to 15 points, 41-26, with 9:05 remaining in the third quarter, but Morgan State scored 18 of the next 22 points to increase the lead to 29 points, 59-30, with 4:37 left.  The Lady Tigers scored eight of the final 10 points to cut the deficit to 23 points, 61-38, after the third quarter.
 
The Bears scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to increase the lead to a game-high 30 points, 68-38, with 4:18 remaining in the quarter, but the Lady Tigers scored the next three points to cut the lead to 27 points, 68-41, with 2:29 left.  A Bear layup with 33 seconds gave Morgan State the 29 point win.
 
The Bears were led by Tykyrah Williams and Lexus Spears with 19 points each and Braennan Farrar added 10 points, while Aunesha Williams added nine rebounds and five assists.
 
The Lady Tigers finish the homestand with North Carolina A&T State University Monday at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
