SAVANNAH, Ga.- The Savannah State volleyball team defeated North Carolina Central 3-1 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action played at Tiger Arena.
The Lady Tigers won by scores of 25-23,25-22, 15-25, 25-15.
In the first set, Savannah State was led by
Jamese Scott (4 kills), Salma Gonzalez (9 assists) and
Erin Jackson (5 digs).
Ashley Jordan had nine assists for SSU in the second set.
The Lady Tigers fell in the third set after hitting -.031 percent of their shots but bounced back to capture the fourth set as Jordan had 12 assists,
Katelyn Atchison had 7 kills and Leiri Melendez had 5 digs.
In the four sets, Gonzalez paved the way with 16 assists and 12 digs and a career-high 10 kills.
Scott finished the evening with 11 kills, Jordan had a career-high 33 assists and Melendez added 16 digs for SSU.
For NCCU, Arlanda Faulkner had 14 kills while Isis Mitchell had 17 assists and 13 digs.
