SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University softball team (0-26, 0-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to North Carolina Central University (7-22, 2-3 MEAC) 7-0 and 14-1 in five innings at the Lady Tiger Softball Field Saturday.
 
Senior right fielder Alexis Singleton batted .429 (3-for-7) with a run scored and a triple, while sophomore first baseman Elizabeth Humes went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

North Carolina Central 7, Savannah State 0 (Game One)
Singleton went 2-for-4 at the plate, while senior left fielder Chasney Jenkins, junior third baseman Drea Lesure and junior center fielder Shelby Eccles each recorded a hit. On the mound, sophomore pitcher Faith Dickerson (0-13) picked up the loss pitching the first 3.1 innings giving up four runs on six hits, while senior pitcher Amanda McDowell pitched the final 3.2 innings giving up two earned runs on two hits with seven strikeouts.
 
The Eagles broke a scoreless tie in the top of the first inning with a run to lead 1-0 after the first inning after a leadoff home run and scored three runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-0 lead after sacrifice fly, a wild pitch to score an Eagle and an RBI groundout.
 
N.C. Central scored the final three runs in the seventh inning after a three-run home run to left center.
 
The Eagles were led by Lauren Sitterson with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate with a run scored and two RBIs, while Dominique Wilson went 1-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs.  On the mound, Wilson (5-11) pitched a complete game scattering five hits.
 
North Carolina Central 14, Savannah State 1 (5) (Game Two)
Singleton, Humes, sophomore third baseman Cortni Jones and junior shortstop Brianna Harris each recorded a hit, while Singleton scored once and Humes recorded an RBI.
 
Savannah State broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the first inning after Humes groundout to shortstop to drive home Singleton, who started the inning with a triple to right field, to give the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead after the first inning.
 
But North Carolina Central scored four runs in the top of the second inning to take a 4-1 lead after a sacrifice fly, a wild pitch to score an Eagle, a solo home run to left field and an Eagle scored on an error and added four more runs in the third inning to take an 8-1 lead after a grand slam to left field.
 
The Eagles scored the final six runs in the fifth inning after a home run to the left center, an RBI walk and a grand slam to center field.
 
The Eagles were led by Wilson going 2-for-3 with a run scored and four RBIs, while Jennifer Allison went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and four RBIs.  On the mound, Wilson completed her second complete game on the day giving up one run on four hits. 
 
The Lady Tigers finish the series against the Eagles Sunday at noon at Lady Tiger Softball Field.
