SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University softball team (0-24, 0-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to Bethune-Cookman University (12-23, 3-0 MEAC) 14-0 in five innings at the Lady Tiger Softball Field. 
 
Senior left fielder Chasney Jenkins, freshman Ashleigh Dennis, junior second baseman Brianna Harris and sophomore third baseman Allye Sneed each all recorded a hit.  On the mound, sophomore pitcher Faith Dickerson (0-12) picked up the loss pitching 1.2 innings giving up two earned runs on three hits, while senior pitcher Amanda McDowell pitched 3.1 innings giving up eight earned runs on seven hits.

Bethune-Cookman started the game with four runs in the top of the first inning to take a 4-0 lead after the first after a wild pitch to score a Wildcat, an RBI single, two RBI walks and scored five runs in the second inning to take a 9-0 lead after a leadoff home run to left field, a sacrifice fly, an error to allow a Wildcat to score, two RBI singles.
 
The Wildcats scored two runs in the third inning after a two-run home to left field to take an 11-0 lead and scored three runs in the fourth inning after a three-run home run to left field.
 
Bethune-Cookman was led by Iesha Waters, Kailey Richard with two hits each, while Bailey Conner and Richard each recorded three RBIs.
 
The Lady Tigers finish the eight game homestand with a three-game series against North Carolina Central University this weekend.  SSU and NCCU play a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and a single game Sunday at noon at Lady Tiger Softball Field.
