GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior guard
Kenyata Hendrix and graduate student guard Lauren "Gaby" Moss combined for 44 points as the Savannah State University women's basketball team (10-17, 7-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to North Carolina A&T State University (12-15, 8-6 MEAC) 89-54 Saturday in Corbett Sports Center.
Hendrix recorded a game-high 25 points, three shy of her career high, while Moss added 19 points and eight rebounds. Hendrix recorded 17 of her 25 points in the first quarter.

Jeremica Edwards added seven rebounds and six points with two steals, while senior forward
Charmia Graham added four points.
The Lady Tigers were without senior center
Tiyonda Davis and the Aggies took advantage of it as NCAT scored 56 of the 89 points in the paint.
The Aggies scored five of the first seven points of the game to take a 5-2 lead with 9:00 remaining in the first quarter, but a jumper by Edwards cut the lead to a point, 5-4, with 8:23 left. NCAT scored the next four points to take a five-point 9-4 with 7:22 remaining, but the Lady Tigers scored 11 of the next 15 points to tie the game at 15 with 3:12 left in the quarter.
NCAT scored the next five points to take a five-point lead, 20-15, with 59 seconds left, but back-to-back layups by Hendrix cut the lead to a point, 20-19, with 13 seconds left. A layup at the buzzer gave the Aggies a three-point lead, 22-19, after the first quarter.
A layup by Moss to start the second quarter cut the lead to a point, 22-21, with 9:28 remaining, but the Aggies scored 12 of the next 14 points, including 10 consecutive points, to take an 11-point lead, 34-23, with 5:34 left. Savannah State scored 10 of the next 13 points to cut the lead to six points, 39-33, with 1:13 remaining, but the Aggies scored the final two points to take an eight-point lead, 41-33, at the half.
The Aggies scored 17 of the first 22 of the third quarter to take a 20-point lead, 58-38, with 3:02 remaining, but the Lady Tigers scored four of the next six points to cut the lead to 18 points, 60-42, with 1:22 left. A NCAT layup with 40 seconds gave the Aggies a 20-point lead, 62-42, after the third quarter.
NCAT scored 13 of the first 17 points of the fourth quarter to take a 29-point lead, 75-46, with 4:59 remaining in the quarter, but the Lady Tigers scored five of the next seven points to cut the lead to 26 points, 77-51, with 3:33 left. The Aggies scored 12 of the final 15 points for the 35-point win.
The Aggies were led by Alexus Lessears with a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Dana Brown added 18 points and Aliyah Kilpatrick added 13 points and five steals.
The Lady Tigers stay in North Carolina and travel to Durham to face North Carolina Central University (6-20, 5-9 MEAC) Monday at 5:30 p.m.
