Game Notes:
· The Tigers return to action after a 12-day break and travel to  Baltimore, Md. to take on Morgan State on Feb. 18 at 4 p.m. SSU looks to sweep the season series after defeating the Bears, 74-61, at home back in January.

· SSU is currently on a two-game losing skid after back-to-back losses to Hampton and Norfolk at home.

· SSU will have to win out in order to secure their second straight winning season. The Tigers need to win their final five games and would finish with a  15-14 record.

· SSU is currently leading the country in 3-point field goals per game (13.8), and 3-point field goals attempted (992). The Tigers are second nationally in total threes made (330), lead the MEAC and are 6th nationally in assists per game (17.7), and lead the MEAC and are 13th nationally in scoring (85.3).

BROKEN RECORDS
Casey Wells set a new 3-point Division I record for SSU when he hit nine three pointers against Fort Valley on Nov. 21. The previous record was eight.  As a team, SSU shattered the school's D-I record this season  hitting 24 threes against Middle Georgia on Nov. 17. The previous record was 17, set last season.
 
LONGEVITY
Head coach Horace Broadnax is entering his 12th season as the Tigers head coach. No other SSU men's basketball coach has had a longer tenure.
 
SOUTHERN TIES
All but two members of the team are from the South. Six players hail from Georgia while three are from Florida, two are from South Carolina and one is from North Carolina. Those not from the South include one from New York and one from Panama.
 
BREAKING DOWN THE CLASS
SSU has 14 players on the roster which includes four freshmen, three juniors, four sophomores and three seniors.
 
THE SIZE OF IT
The tallest player on the roster is 6-10 Maricus Glenn. The shortest player on the team is Isaiah Felder who is listed at 6-0.
 
STARTING TWO
Only two players have stared every game this season for the Tigers: Troyce Manassa and Joshua Floyd. Senior Manassa is a returner that started in all 32 games last season for SSU. Floyd is a newcomer to this year's team.
 
TOUGH SCHEDULE
Of the teams on the schedule, six advanced to postseason play last year. San Diego State made it to the NIT semifinals, Oregon made it to the NCAA Elite Eight and Iowa State made it to the NCAA Sweet 16.
 
SIGHT SEEING
SSU will play in 10 different states (Iowa, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, California, Oregon, Virginia, south Carolina, Maryland and North Carolina) this season in addition to the District of Columbia.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW
Johnny Mathis, who played with SSU from 1960-64 is in his 30th year of coaching. Mathis, who played with the New Jersey Americans of the American Basketball Association, is currently the boys head basketball coach at John F.Kennedy High School in Bronx, New York.
 
REBUILDING EFFORT
Troyce Manassa is the only returning starter back this season.
 
GETTING DEFENSIVE
SSU led the MEAC in scoring defense last season, giving up 67.7 points a game.
 
PICK POCKET
SSU was second in steals the MEAC last season, averaging 6.3 steals per game.
 
SITTING THIS ONE OUT
Javaris Jenkins will be red-shirted this season.
 
BACK ON TRACK
After two straight losing seasons, SSU posted a 16-16 record last year and hosted a game in the Collegeinsiders.com Tournament.
