SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's volleyball team (2-18, 0-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) continues MEAC play with South Carolina State University (1-19, 0-4 MEAC) in Orangeburg, S.C. Friday night as both teams look for the first conference win of the season.
The Lady Tigers are led by junior outside hitter
Jennifer Rosado with 1.47 kills per set, senior setter
Alee Quint with 4.09 assists per set and freshman libero
Leiri Melendez with 3.05 digs per set.
Freshman middle blocker
Tyran Chenault leads the team with 0.82 blocks per set and is second with 1.37 kills per set, while freshman setter
Salma Gonzalez averages 1.99 digs per set, 2.88 assists per set and 1.18 kills per set.
Savannah State has lost the last two matches by with a 3-1 score against North Carolina Central University and Georgia Southern University. Last season, the Lady Tigers won both matches against SCSU 3-1.
The Bulldogs have lost the last eight matches and are led by Alexus Holt with 2.97 kills per set, Jenai King with 6.94 assists per set and Marcella Chestnut with 2.30 digs per set.
The Lady Tigers return home for a two-match homestand with North Carolina Central University Monday at 6 p.m. for Dig Pink and Mercer University Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. in Willcox-Wiley Gymnasium.
