ATLANTA, Ga.- A Brian Miller home run would be Savannah State's only score of the day in the Tigers 4-1 loss to Georgia State in a game played at the GSU Baseball Complex. Miller hit his home run in the fourth inning to tie the game at 1-1 off of Panther starter Devin Vainer.
SSU (6-16) had other opportunities to score in the contest, leaving 10 runners stranded on the base-pads.
The Tigers left two runners on base in the fifth and eighth innings and left the bases loaded in the ninth.
The game was tied at the end of nine innings but Georgia State added three runs in the bottom of the 10th to get the victory when Jarret Hood hit a three-run home run over the left field fence off out SSU reliever Greg Smith.Â
Hood went 3 for 3 for GSU (12-9) while Rhett Harper was awarded the win on the mound. Harper struck out two batters in one innings and did not allow a hit.
