Tiger Bites
· This will be the first meeting between the Tigers and Mavericks, and the second time SSU will played in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT).  In 2012-13, SSU loss to East Carolina, 65-66, in the 1st round of the CIT tournament. The Tigers entered that game with a 19-14 record.

· SSU is 0-2 in Division I post season play. In 2011-12, the Tigers loss to the University of Tennessee in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) after winning the MEAC Regular Season championship. The following year, SSU fell to East Carolina in the first round of the CIT tournament.

· The Tigers have locked in a winning season for the fourth time in the Broadnax era. Heading into today's game, SSU's 16-15 record guarantees them another winning season. SSU had winning records in  2008-09 (15-14), 2011-12 (21-12) and 2012-13 (19-15).
 
WALK-ON TO STARTER
Senior forward Brian Pearson entered SSU as a Junior walk-on in 2014-15. Since, he has become a rebounding force and has earned a spot as a starter on the 2015-16 team. Pearson  is second on the team in rebounding averaging 5.3 and is third in FG% at 44%.
 
GOOD COMPANY
Horace Broadnax is only one of three SSU coaches to have won at least 100 games. The other two are Theodore Wright and Russell Ellington. Wright and Ellington are in the SSU Athletic Hall of Fame
 
DIVERSE ROSTER
The SSU roster has players from seven different states (Georgia, California, Maryland, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and Michigan) and two other countries (Senegal and England)
 
STARTING FIVE
The Tigers have started the same five for the past 11 games. Since starting Khalen Pinkett, Chris Martin, Troyce Manassa, Lenjo Kilo and Brian Pearson, SSU has won nine of their last 11 games. Martin and Manassa have started all 31 games for SSU.
 
G'TOWN CONNECTION
Horace Broadnax and Billy Martin, the father of SSU guard Chris Martin, were teammates at Georgetown.
 
NEED 50 PLUS
50 seems the be the magic number for the Tigers as SSU is 0-3 when scoring under 50 points. The Tigers are 16-12 when scoring over 50 and 12-4 when scoring over 60.
 
LONGEVITY
Horace Broadnax is in his 11th year as head coach of the Tigers,  trailing Theodore "Ted" Wright who was the Tigers head coach for 14 seasons.
