Tiger Bites

· This will be the 75th meeting all-time between the Tigers and the Wildcats, but it will be the first time the two squads have met in the MEAC Tournament. B-CU received a bye in the first round because of their 4th place seeding, while the Tigers defeated Delaware State, 63-58, in the opening round to advance.

· SSU is 3-4 when playing in the MEAC Tournament since entering the conference in 2011-12. The Tigers have advanced past the first round twice (2012-13 and 2013-14), but has never  made it past the quarterfinals. In 2011-12, SSU came in as the #1 seed, but loss to Hampton in the quarterfinal round.

· This will be the second game for SSU at a neutral site this season. The Tigers have had an outstanding season when playing at home, finishing the regular season 12-2. However, playing away has been the exact opposite as SSU finished  the season 2-12 on the road.

WALK-ON TO STARTER
Senior forward Brian Pearson entered SSU as a Junior walk-on in 2014-15. Since, he has become a rebounding force and has earned a spot as a starter on the 2015-16 team. Pearson  is second on the team in rebounding averaging 5.4 and is third in FG% at 45%.

STARTING FIVE
The Tigers have started the same five for the past nine games. Since starting Khalen Pinkett, Chris Martin, Troyce Manassa, Lenjo Kilo and Brian Pearson, SSU has won eight of their last nine games. Martin and Manassa have started all 29 games for SSU.

G'TOWN CONNECTION
Horace Broadnax and Billy Martin, the father of SSU guard Chris Martin, were teammates at Georgetown.

50 PLUS

LONGEVITY
Horace Broadnax is in his 11th year as head coach of the Tigers,  trailing Theodore "Ted" Wright who was the Tigers head coach for 14 seasons.
