SAVANNAH, Ga. – Graduate student guard Lauren "Gaby" Moss led Savannah State University women's basketball team with 15 points and seven rebounds as the Lady Tigers (2-4) fell to Jacksonville University (5-2) 55-40 Tuesday night in Tiger Arena to begin a three-game homestand.

Caprisha Treadwell added nine points on 4-for-7 shooting with two rebounds in 10 minutes, while junior guard

Savannah State scored six of the first eight points of the game to take a 6-2 lead with 9:20 remaining in the first quarter, but Jacksonville scored the next five points to take a point lead, 7-6, with 2:31 left. After a Treadwell layup to give SSU a point lead, 9-8, with 2:07 remaining, the Dolphins scored the next five points to take a five-point lead, 13-8, with 51 seconds, but a three-pointer by Moss cut the lead to two points, 13-11 after a quarter.
A Jacksonville three-pointer increase its lead to five points ,16-11, with 9:40 remaining in the second quarter, but two free throws by Fields cut the lead to three points, 16-13, with 9:13 left. The Dolphins scored the next six points to increase their lead to nine points, 22-13, with 7:03 remaining in the first half and scored eight of the next 12 points to increase their lead to 13 points, 30-17, at the half.
After a layup by Jacksonville to increase its lead to 15 points, 32-17, with 7:12 remaining in the third quarter, the Lady Tigers scored five of the next eight points to cut the lead to 13 points, 35-22, with 4:30 remaining. The Dolphins scored seven of the final 10 points to take a 17-point, 42-25, after three quarters.
Savannah State scored the first four points of the final quarter to cut the lead to 13 points, 42-29, with 8:01 remaining in the fourth quarter, but Jacksonville scored 10 of the next 14 points to take a 19-point lead, 52-33, with 2:27 left in the game, but the Lady Tigers outscored JU 7-3 to cut the lead to the final margin of 15 points.
The Dolphins were led by Sherranda Reddick with 23 points and added five rebounds, while Brandi Buie added 16 points and five rebounds and Kimberly Dawkins added 14 rebounds.
The Lady Tigers continue the homestand with in-state rival Georgia Southern Thursday at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena.
