The Lady Tigers (0-5) start off with Austin Peay (0-4) on Friday at 5 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday starting with host UAB (2-2) at 10 a.m. and Florida International (2-1) at 3 p.m.
After five matches this season, junior setter
Caitlynn Masoe leads the team with 23 kills, with 1.53 kills per set, with 46 assists and with 3.07 assists per set. She has added two service aces, 0.13 service aces per set, and 26 digs, 1.73 digs per set.

Alexis Washington leads the team with 45 digs and with a 3.00 digs per set. Freshman setter
Briana Littlejohn is second on the team 39 assists and with 2.60 assists per set, while freshman outside hitter
Makayla Tam has added 18 kills, 1.29 kills per set, and 13 digs. Tam leads the team with four service aces and with a 0.29 service ace per set. Junior middle blocker
Gabrielle Nathaniel has added 17 kills, 1.21 kills per set. Â

On Tuesday night, the Lady Tigers traveled to Charleston, S.C., and fell to Charleston Southern 3-0 (25-9, 25-22, 25-7). Nathaniel and Masoe led the Lady Tigers with six kills each, while Littlejohn led with 10 assists and Washington led with 11 digs. Masoe also added five digs and seven assists and a service ace.Â

APSU is also looking for its first win of the season. The Lady Governors went 0-3 in the Purdue Mortar Board Tournament falling to Ohio (3-0), host Purdue (3-0) and VCU (3-1) and fell to Evansville (3-2) in its home opener. ASU is led by Samantha Strother with 44 kills, 2.93 kills per set, Aubrey Marsellis with 82 assists, 8.20 assists per set, and April Adams with 70 digs, 4.67 digs per set.

UAB went 2-1 at the Lamar Invitational with wins over Marist (3-0) and Texas Southern (3-2), but fell to host Lamar (3-0). The Blazers fell to Troy 3-2 on Tuesday night on the road. The Blazers are led by Gabby Deshotel with 71 kills, 4.44 kills per set, Amber Treace with 130 assists, 9.29 assists per set, and with Emma Schroer with 79 digs, 4.94 digs per set.Â

FIU host the first weekend and went 2-1 at the Panther Challenge with wins over Alabama A&M (3-0) and South Florida (3-0), but fell in the season opener to North Florida (3-1). The Panthers are led by Lucia Castro with 41 kills, 4.10 kills per set, Katie Friesen with 94 assists, 9.40 assists per set, and Maria McLamb with 47 digs, 4.70 digs per set.Â

The Lady Tigers continue its 11-game roadstand at the Valparaiso Invitational from Sept. 11-12. SSU starts with Loyola at 4:30 p.m. on Friday followed by a doubleheader on Saturday with host Valparaiso at 11:30 a.m. and Elon at 4:30 p.m.
