SAVANNAH, Ga. – Savannah State University continues its 11-match roadstand with the Valparaiso Popcorn Classic this weekend in Valparaiso, Ind.
 
The Lady Tigers start off with Loyola (4-2) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday with host Valparaiso (6-0) at 12:30 p.m. and Elon (2-6) at 5:30 p.m.

Freshman outside hitter Makayla Tam leads the team with 33 kills and with 1.43 kills per set.  Junior setter Caitlynn Masoe leads the team with 68 assists and with 2.96 assists per set, and is second on the team with 31 kills, with 1.35 kills per set, with 37 digs and with 1.61 digs per set.  Junior libero Alexis Washington leads the team with 67 digs and with 2.79 digs per set.
 
Last weekend, the Lady Tigers went 0-3 at the Blazer Classic with losses to Austin Peay 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-10), host UAB 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-15) and FIU 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-13).  Tam led the Lady Tigers at the tournament with 15 kills, 1.67 kills per set, and added two service aces, 12 digs and three block assists.  Freshman setter Briana Littlejohn led the team with 24 assists, a 2.67 assists per set, while Masoe added 22 assists, 2.75 assists per set and Washington led with 22 digs and with 2.44 digs per set.
 
Loyola won all three matches at the Hampton Inn Invitational last weekend in Bowling Green, Ohio by beating IPFW (3-0), host Bowling Green (3-1) and Wright State (3-0).  The Ramblers are led by Morgan Reardon with 60 kills, 3.00 kills per set, and with 56 digs, 2.80 digs per set, and Caroline Holt with 116 assists, 5.80 assist per set.
 
Valparaiso went 3-0 at the Terrier Invitational in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. last weekend, defeating Rider (3-1), NJIT (3-0) and St. Francis Brooklyn (3-0).  The Crusaders are led by Emily Campbell with 64 kills, 4.27 kills per set, Kelsey Berrington with 186 assists, 9.79 assist per set, and Morganne Longoria with 87 digs, 4.14 digs per set. 
 
Elon hosted a tournament last weekend and went 1-2 with a win over N.C. Central (3-0) and losses to Charleston Southern (3-1) and Wake Forest (3-1) and defeated Davidson (3-0) on Tuesday night.  Megan Gravley leads the team with 98 kills, 3.27 kills per set, Sydel Curry with 221 assists, 7.37 assists per set, and Maddie Jaudon with 125 digs, 4.46 digs per set.
 
The Lady Tigers continue on the road with a midweek match at Georgia Southern on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. before heading to Tucson, Ariz., for the Wildcat Classic from Sept. 18-19.  On Friday, the Lady Tigers play a doubleheader with No. 4 Texas at 2 p.m., followed by New Mexico State at 7 p.m. and faces host No. 13 Arizona at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
