Game Notes: · SSU will meet N.C. Central for the 15th time with the series tied seven. N.C. Central has won the last four straight. NCCU secured the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) regular season title with its win over Bethune-Cookman, while SSU currently sits in the 10th place position. NCCU defeated the Tigers 40-58 earlier this season in Durham, N.C.
· The Tigers have won three consecutive games for the 1st time this season. SSU is 3-0 dating back to February 23 with wins over Florida A&M, Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina State. This will be SSU's 5th game in nine days.
· SSU is getting quality minutes from newcomer and walk-on, junior college transfer,
Brian Pearson. Pearson, a native of Monroe, Ga., has started in the last eleven games and is the fifth leading scorer averaging 6.8 points per game and second leading rebounder averaging 4.5 per game.
· Defense is the pride of any
Horace Broadnax coached team. The Tigers are ranked 1st in the MEAC and 7th nationally in steals averaging 9.0 per game. SSU is also first in the conference and 11th nationally in total steals with 252.
