Tiger Bites
· SSU will meet S.C. State for the 28th time with S.C. State leading the series, 9-18. S.C. State is currently in the 8th place position with a 7-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) record, while SSU sits in the 11th place position. The Bulldogs defeated the Tigers 56-53 earlier this season in Savannah.

· SSU's wins over Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman marked the second time this season the Tigers won back-to-back games. The other was when the Tigers defeated Winthrop and Cleveland St. on Nov. 20 and 22, respectively.

· SSU is getting quality minutes from newcomer and walk-on, junior college transfer, Brian Pearson. Pearson,  a native of  Monroe, Ga., has started in the last ten games and is the fifth leading scorer averaging 6.6 points per game and second leading rebounder averaging 4.3 per game.

· Defense is the pride of any Horace Broadnax coached team. The Tigers are ranked 1st in the MEAC and 6th nationally in steals averaging 9.1 per game. SSU is also first in the conference and 8th nationally in total steals with 247.
