Coach Wilson on Hampton game….
It's been uphill the whole season, but we're getting it done. We're beginning to see some tides. You know, 7 out of 9 games, we've had the lead at one point or another, which you know Savannah State hasn't done in the past. Going into this game, I knew. But, in the 4th quarter with 6 minutes to go the score was only 21 to 3. Then we get two bad plays, and another one and another one and it ended up 42 to 3. That's how we've had teams all year long. When my freshmen settle down and do well, you know we've got 7 freshmen on offense and 6 on defense and when they settle down we'll be alright. But Hampton did a really good job and executed well.
Coach Wilson on 2015 season...
Like I said, 7 out of 9 games we had the lead. We did a lot of things as you know I cried about not having a weight room all year long but we still fought, the young men fought. We played with 70 out of 80 players. And 70 out of 105 players were freshmen and sophomores. I only have nine seniors graduating and nine juniors coming back. I really feel like the future is bright here. I feel like we're going to get things done.

Coach Wilson on game against S.C. State ...
South Carolina State has always been one of the top programs in the conference. Buddy Pew is a great coach. He's been a great coach for a long time now and he has them well prepared. He has a strong team, physical team. They run the ball well. Quarterback is smart and head up. Defensively, they have one of the best defenses, and there are players I hope to see play on the next level, one day.

The Series: S.C. State leads the series, 16-1.Â
Tiger Bites
- The Tigers are set to take on South Carolina State in their season final on Saturday. This is the first time since 2013 that SSU will end the season with a MEAC opponent. Last season SSU's season final was at BYU in Provo, Utah. Â
- SSU will attempt to get their second win all-time over South Carolina State. SCSU leads the series, 16-1, with the Tigers lone win coming in a 14-9 victory in 2001.
- SSU is looking for their first two-win season since 2009. During that season the Tigers went 2-8 under then head coach Robby Wells. SSU has never won two games over Division I opponents in a season.
