Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C.- Devan Williams scored 19 points to lead Savannah State to a 71-67 overtime victory over North Carolina A&T.

The crowd of 1,009 in the Corbett Sports Center saw the Aggies take a two point lead after a pair of free throws by Lamont Middleton with 41 seconds left.

On the next SSU possession,
Jeremiah Hill missed a 3-pointer but
Hikeem Champaigne got the offensive rebound and fed the ball to Williams who drilled a 3-pointert with 15 seconds left to give SSU a 60-59 led with 15 seconds on the clock.

Jeremy Underwood made a free throw for A&T with four seconds left to send the game into overtime.

In the extra period, the Tigers took a 65-61 advantage after a layup and free throw by
Joshua Montgomery and a layup by Hill.

The Aggies (8-21, 4-10) never got any closer than two points the rest of the way.

Hill added 13 points for the Tigers.

Savannah State shot 57.1 percent from the floor during overtime and 42.4 percent for the game. The Tigers out-rebounded A&T 40 to 31.

During the first five minutes of the game, A&T held a five point lead and led 15-9 at the ten minute mark.

That prompted SSU to put together a 23-9 run that gave the visitors a 32-24 edge with 2:48 left.

The Tigers (11-17, 9-5) led 33-28 at the half.

Savannah State began the second period with a jumper by
Jyles Smith and a pair of free throws by Montgomery to increase their lead to 37-28.

A&T answered with a 22-5 surge to go ahead 50-42 with 9:40 left.

A 8-0 mini-run by Savannah State knotted the score at 50 with 7:23 remaining.

The half would have five more ties before going into overtime.

Smith had 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for the Tigers.

Middleton had a game-high 23 points for A&T. The Aggies shot 41.5 percent from the field.
