SSU entered the contest the losers of four their last five game but had the early momentum against the Aggies as they raced out to a 14-5 lead.

A&T trimmed their deficit to five with 11:03 left in the half but a 28-8 run by Savannah State gave the home team their biggest lead of the half at 43-18 with 51 seconds on the clock.

SSU led 43-20 at intermission.

The second period went much like the first half, with SSU having their way with the Aggies.

Ahead 54-30 with just over 11 minutes left in the game, Savannah State put together a 8-1 mini-run to grab a 62-31 lead, their largest of the game, with 8:23 on the clock.

Although SSU went the final 3:18 without a field goal, the Aggies could only get as close as 22 points with 4:09 remaining.

Joshua Montgomery and
Jyles Smith each had 10 rebounds for the Tigers.

Montgomery added 15 points while Smith chipped in 11 points and 5 blocks.
