THE GAMES:
The Lady Tigers finish up the 2014 volleyball season with two Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) road games in North Carolina.

On Friday, they take on North Carolina A&T State for the second time this season. SSU hosted the Lady Aggies on Oct. 12. They fell to NCAT in straight sets, 0-3 (19-25, 14-25, 22-25). NCAT is 4-21 overall this season and 4-4 in the MEAC.

The Lady Tigers face North Carolina Central on Sunday in the final game of the 2014 regular season. SSU dropped a close home game earlier in the season to the Lady Eagles, falling 0-3 (21-25, 19-25, 22-25). NCCU is 2-24 overall this season and 2-6 in the MEAC.

With a win over SSU, both North Carolina teams have a statistical chance of making the 2014 MEAC Volleyball Championship Tournament.

The Lady Tigers are 5-25 overall and 0-8 in the MEAC. Even with two wins this weekend, the Lady Tigers will not be statistically eligible for the 2014 MEAC Tournament. (The top four teams from the Southern and Northern Divisions are selected to participate in the championship).

The five wins that the Lady Tigers have earned this season is a vast improvement over the last few years of competition. The last SSU volleyball team to earn five wins was the 2010 squad, who finished 5-23.

The Lady Tigers will only lose two players this season with all of the core starters set to return for the 2015 season. They are currently led in the statistics by junior Justice Dilworth. Dilworth is averaging 2.21 kills per set with 168 on the season, as well as 145 digs.

Freshman Zariya Thomas sits behind Dilworth in the stats with 135 kills, averaging 1.71 a set. Gabrielle Nathaniel is averaging 1.29 kills a set with 107 on record this season.

Alexis Washington leads the team in digs with 213, averaging 2.39 a set. Freshman Autumn Session leads in blocks with 31.
